Touch Pad
The Touch Pad is one of the most versatile controls in Syntien 2. You can "play" it with five fingers simultaneously on a phone, or ten on a tablet. By picking a different color from the "palette" in the top right, you can associate each touch with a different sound. In this demo, we'll use Syntien to send OSC output from the Touch Pad to Processing and SuperCollider simultaneously, creating synchronized audio and video.
The configuration in Syntien is pretty simple. We add two Touch Pads; the one on the left will play quick sine blips and trigger a droplet effect in Processing, and the one on the right will play a sustained sound and trigger a luminous trail effect in Processing. The Touch Pad on the right has "sticky" touches enabled so that we can lift our fingers without stopping the sustained sound.
In the OSC config for each control, we take advantage of Syntien's Named Destinations feature to send the output to two OSC destinations simultaneously.
